This strand comes from the Yoruba people of Nigeria, although beads of this unique variety can be found in Ethiopia and Ghana. These beads used to be very common fifty years ago on the African Trade Beads markets, but are now very rare. This 24" strand has a variety of beads; 82 beads, sizes range from 4mm x 6mm up to 8mm x 14mm. Around 75-100 years old. There are two Nepalese glass "coral" beads in the mix as well.
