Vintage 24" tall x 9" at the base Yoruba figure carved in the mid-1980s. Used in actual Yoruba ceremonial service then decommissioned to free the spirit (note the crack along the right side of the head). Made from local hardwood; Nigeria.
Yemoja is a major water deity from the Yoruba religion. She is an orisha and the mother of all orishas, having given birth to the 14 Yoruba gods and goddesses.
