Vintage 1950s hand-carved wooden ceremonial mask from Nigeria; 13" tall x 12" wide x 8" deep. The mask was used in a religious ceremony then struck to release the spirit when the ritual was completed. You can see the repair on the back where the mask was intentionally cracked. The bottom also has some damage (due to age) and he is missing an ear knob. One of the coolest masks we have. Hand-carved from local hardwood.
